Tch, I've NEVER had an issue with a video card not being compatible. EVER. My video card also has not been updated since I got my computer in 04, and if I remember correctly it was actually taken as a scrap from an older computer so how old it is I really don't know, but I have never had to upgrade it and chances are it cost no more than $200.00. RAM is currently the only problem I run into when I deal with video games. Nothing else has been updated on my computer since I got it. And RAM is easy enough to upgrade.

I haven't had to uninstall a game to install a game since the days of Windows 98. What are people still limited to 34 GB hard drives or something?

Console games have like a typical lifespand of two days to a week if you are lucky, or just horrible at video games. You buy a "sweet" console game for $50 bucks and in two days it's finished it's time to move on to the next $50+ game, two days later, there goes another one.

Typically I find games today to be rather sucky. Take Halo for example. You can't do ANYTHING with this game. Jump, turn, shoot, throw a granade. Woopi. Gameplay has plunged to an all time low to make way for ooooooo graphics, aaaaah.

Chances are they will scrap Vista and readapt from it, or simply never adapt, video games to it because lets face it, anyone who can choose, and has half a brain, will not buy Vista. Video game makers aren't stupid enough to limit everything to Vista, though I wouldn't put it past them these days, it's just money down the drain to invest in Vista in that fashion.

To my knowledge there aren't even any games limited to Vista. If they are they certainly aren't worth buying cause I've never heard of them.

Well you must not be playing very graphic heavy games. I remember in September just gone all the issues involving crisis and even the most high end computers not being able to run it efficiently.

Nope, but I as games constantly get bigger and need more install room and you have to keep adding patches etc etc, its going to eat up space. And the average person is probably going to have much more than games taking up room on their HD. The more data you have stored on your HD, the more strain your PC will have in certain areas.

I don?t know what games you are playing but a good amount of console games tend to last a very long time, etc Mario galaxy50 hours to do everything , final fantasy100+ hours to do everything , dragon quest 100 + hours, saints row 50 + hours, grand theft auto 50+ hours, metroid prime 20 - 50 hours, crash bandicoot 30 - 50 hours for 100%. I can easily say the same thing for PC, games that aren?t RPG;s they last a few hours and then over.

Typically I find games today to be rather sucky. Take Halo for example. You can't do ANYTHING with this game. Jump, turn, shoot, throw a granade. Woopi. Gameplay has plunged to an all time low to make way for ooooooo graphics, aaaaah.

This is the majority of PC games considering they are FPS, and how many times do I need to play a command and conquer or sims clone.

There is a few, im positive crisis is and I know for certain Halo 2 is. And I have vista, because I needed a new PC and vista is the norm for new PC?s now.

Typically the higher graphics games aren't worth playing. Just an ass load of graphics and NO gameplay. Like Halo(though the graphics are rather sucky), Tomb Raider Legends, blah blah blah. Not worth it.

Believe me I know how using up space on a computer can limit it, and I haven't had that issue for a very long time.

I beat Final Fantasy in 50 hours. I don't bother with Conquer/Sims games. They are pretty damn stupid if you ask me, as stupid as any RPG.

I'm not so certain Halo 2 is limited to Vista, but if it is, Halo sucks anyway. Vista may or may not be the norm, idk, but I know for certain you should never waste your money and buy a computer from a store. Go on ebay, find a nerd, get one build for you.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Lol..I wouldn't even attempt to start listing my games. Especially since my first system, which still works, btw, is an old black & white *Pong* system from the 1980's. And then, there is my Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo DS, PSP, Desktop PC with Windows XP, and Laptop PC with Vista. I have been into computer gaming since I was in high school ~ in the '80's and my games for my Atari do still work and yes..I do still get it out and play my Pac-Man and Frogger and Missile Command and Asteroids occasionally. Hehe...I was a real electronics nut as I was growing up..my dad worked for the telephone company and owned an electronics business, and helped set up the electronics program at the local college (they wanted him to teach, but he was too busy with holding two jobs! As it was, he was on the advisory committee.). One of the instructors let me "unofficially" take the binary/hexadecimal programming course when I was 13..of course..that's been a few years ago and I really don't remember any of it . Hehe, especially considering that I will be 40 the day after St. Patrick's Day . BTW, back to the subject...when it comes to PC games..I probably have 150-200 game disks..but only have about 10 actually installed and currently playing right now. Tho I do go back and install and play the others on a rotating basis.

Best...WCW game...ever!! I loved both World Tour and Revenge and yeah, some of my fondest memories as a little wrestling fan. Awesome of you having that one, too![/b]
Yeh, I loved those games. My favorite characters on World Tour were Rey Mysteriou and Black Ninja. There was a dragon dude but I dont remember teh name. In revenge, it was Goldberg, and just about any light weight wrestler.

Vista was a mistake, everyone agrees with that. The trick? Don't "upgrade" it's as simple as that.[/b]
Vista is the standard for all new PCs nowadays. I just got a new HP laptop and it has Vista. I dont use it for games so it doesnt really matter.

I think it depends on how harcore of a gamer you are. I am, to an extent. I have so much stuff to do for studio and classes that I only play on the weekends. Im still halfway through Devil May Cry 4 and I got it on release day.

Halo is all about multiplayer action. Its fun as hell. Its not all about complicated gameplay. Sometimes simplicity works best. There are many games that have complicated or innovative gameplay suck cuz of either bad graphics, crappy storylines, or just plain uninteresting.

lol..I've got a game that I *still* play that is an old pc game, by the name of Mordor 1: The Depths of Dejenol. Graphics are very low grade, and the story line is very slim..it's just pretty much a basic hack and slash dungeon crawl...but it is one of the most addictive games I've played. It was upgraded into a game called Mordor II, then I helped with the alpha and beta testing for the followup game for it, called Demise: Rise of the Ku'Tan. The alpha/beta testing is in progress on the sequel to Demise, to be released hopefully in March 08, to be called Ascension. I started on the alpha team with it and had to leave due to a family medical emergency (Mom had a stroke). Starting with Demise, these games were MMO's so you might want to take a look at them if are interested in that type of thing. They are great and the graphics are amazing! Comparing the progress from the original Mordor to Ascension (even the buggy alpha version) is just totally awe inspiring to see the progress in game programming.
