| I'm not bad!!! |
I just want to get other opinions on this. Do you think people use cell phones too much? I'm not talking about people who are doing business on the cell or making important calls to and from schools and/or doctors. I'm referring to people who can't leave the house without constantly on the phone with friends. Whenever I get on the highway, I see people who are weaving all over the road. WHen I get up next to them, I thought they might be drunk, only to discover that they are just talking on the cell phone. Now don't get me wrong, I carry a cell phone too, however I refuse to pick it up while I'm driving. If you call while I'm on the road, I will not pick it up and the person calling can leave a voice mail. In Maryland we have enough fun with the left lane losers, (who don't understand that the left lane is a passing lane), we don't need to add the pea-brained cell phone users. Sorry I just had to get that rant off my chest. It's finals week and I'm not feeling too well. But I do want other people's opinion. I tried this on another site a long time ago and about had someone to bite my head off because she tried to tell me that the only time she had to talk to her mother was when she was behind the wheel of her car. I told her that if she didn't have time to talk to her mother except when you are driving, then you need to reevaluate your life. She didn't like that. Personally, I think it's dangerous to talk on the phone while driving. Plus it's plan rude. |

| With Wings Around | I think it's dangerous too and rumor has it some states are trying to make it against the law to talk on the phone while driving. I admit i have one but if it's that important then leave a voicemail. Anyways yeah this little rant was cool to read. Nice to see i'm not the only one who hates this idea. |

| Dha'Ghett | I think some places have banned cellphone useage while driving. Personally I'm all for it. Idiots don't know how to drive as it is. Heck the other day this pea brained guy came from two rows over to cut me off to enter a ramp, the same one I was entering and he almost didn't make it. If he had caused us both to wreck the guy would have had a needed an ambulance whether he was hurt in the wreck or not. I find that kind of driving totally unacceptable. If I use my phone in the car it is usually only when I'm sitting in traffic with out much hopes of actually moving being 20 mph any time soon, though I admit I have used it otherwise as well. I have also ridden in cars where people try to text and drive, NOT FUN!!!! I would completely support a law against cell phone use while driving. It's more than just not having both hands on the wheel, it's about not paying attention. Like I said, people seem to have enough problems with doing that much as it is. |

| | We have laws against cell phone usage while driving, but I love to break that particular law because I know how to avoid tickets, and where I go to school the roads are all windy, but there's no reception the best reception I get is on the interstate, and I'm fine just cruising along in the right lane and talking on the phone at about 80, but that's only in the summer, during the winter time well that's what the co-pilot is for, to be my phone serivce |

BTW Lonesnake, I feel your pain because I know it can be hard to get reception in some places. Would it be possible for you to pull off some where to talk? I also have a problem with the hands-free. You still have to dial the number and it's more about paying attention to where they are going. If they are having a "deep coversation" with someone, how can they possibly pay attention to what you are doing behind the wheel. Around here people pay more attention to what they are talking about than they do about their driving. My husband was side swiped by someone talking on the cell phone. We didn't even have one at the time and the kid even tried to say it was my husband's fault because he was in the left lane and my husband shouldn't have tried to pass him on the right. The kid's father showed up at the accident scene and knew a lot of the cops there. We were lucky though, we went right through insurance, they didnn't fall for his crap. | |

| Kitten with a whip | They also confirmed that on Mythbusters - and even hands free can be dangerous, too because even if your hands are still on the wheel if your mind is in another place at just the wrong time it could be a rather costly mistake in more ways than one |
