The Bees are disappearing? in Doctor Who and in the real world ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/6400179.stm So if they are disappearing in the real world its the end as according to Einstein, four years after bees dissapear, mankind will follow suit (due to bees being the primary pollinator of crops) . Now bees started dissapearing last year (2007) due to a condition called Colony Collapse Disorder. So if the is the last year of the bees... Now, the Mayans believe that the world will end in on the Winter Solstice of 21 Dec 2012 (the end of the 5th sun). Coincidence? This is quite a good explanation of the Mayan thing http://www.diagnosis2012.co.uk/5thsun.htm and the bees thing can be found anywhere.

I heard about this. Even though, it's thought we don't really need them. We do, because they provide us with honey. Or it's they provide honey for themselves and we jack them. =/

Man, that started happening years ago, and last I heard they were actually making a comeback. Probably just another one of those 'it all depends on who you ask' type deals and who's handing out the cash.

Mankind has the ability to pollenate things and have for awhile. Are they needed? Yes. The food chain would collapse somewhere if they disappeared and other creatures would be affected. But I believe humans will be fine either way.

Y'know some of us still feel cheated out of the havoc New Year's Eve '99 was supposed to bring. Wake me when it's really the end of the world and I'll bring the marshmallows

No more bees means no more Africanized 'killer' bees. I'm fine with genetically engineered honey if these bad boys are down for the count.
