Default RPG Suggestion

I wasn't sure where to put this...so I put it here (Obviously)

My idea is that I see RPG's, some good and some with the potential to be good, dying out long before they are finished. Now I know that boredom can cause it but still...I suggest that people play or create one RPG at a time, that way they aren't trying to involve themselves in 5 other things that all work against each other. When one RP is done, then start another instead of starting another in the middle of one. (or two or three in some cases)

I believe this would vastly improve RPG quality out there in the forum. That's just me though.

Welcome to the world of the Role Playing. RPGs come and go and there really isn't much you can do about it. As much as it sucks watching a good RP go poof, it's part of it.

As a fellow RPer and my time RPing over the last 2 years, I've noticed that you can't just simply join just one or have just one. New ideas come more often then anything and you can't just throw them away or wait until one is done. You get impatient and you want to find out what will happen if you did this one or you do an idea because not often have you come across one like it. Plus losing an idea can suck while you wait.

Also you gotta take into consideration that no matter how much you like a game or you want to see the full potential of your idea, they will die. The players will move on to something better, the owners will do a new one because they might not like how one game is going or they just simply get bored. Some run their courses to a point and instead of dragging it out to where everyone gets sick of it, you just move on to something better.

It's all part of the game. Not everyone will like it but really that's how it goes. It happens, you learn to deal with it.

The fact is, people get bored, and people who spend lots of time on the internet get involved in several different things. Personally, I try not to overload myself too much because there are other things in real life and throughout the site that I like to take care of, but other people really, seriously enjoy roleplaying, and have the time to do more than one, so they do.

It's not a matter of people overloading themselves: sometimes the person who created the RPG doesn't have time to be online whenever everybody else is, and other times the person who makes the RPG will do anything in his/her power to keep it going, even if it means rudely taking over other people's characters. It's just a matter of who made the RPG and who you're roleplaying with for the most part. Personally though, I enjoy quality over quantity.

Awesome B-Day set thanks to Robbie!!

To counter the problem of losing good ideas, you could always put them down in wordpad or something similar. That way, at a later date, you could put up that good one or maybe even an improved version.

I guess I can see the reasoning though...people do get bored...I myself am victim to that one. But it would be nice to see a little change somewhere, somehow.

The only other way around it would be to contact the original author of the RPG and get their permission to continue on with it and take control of it.
