After doing some research into the software that Power Ranger Topsites runs on, I have come to find it unreliable in it's stats. People are able to falsley bump up the stats by repeatedly visiting it through the link provided by the webmaster on their website. It's no coincidence a few of the sites on there that do well, also have very few active guests and/members. Some sites are using it as a guage of the popularity of their website and/or forum. The problem is, that can create a false impression of the popularity and activity of the site(s) listed. I've visited and tested this theory through PRE and found it to be true. All it takes are a few people to keep 'voting for' the site/forum in question by voting for the site, then closing out the browser and/or re-visiting the site and re-clicking on the button provided, to bump up the stats to in some cases ridiculously crazy levels. So what I will be doing is withdrawing PRE from Power Ranger Topsites. As it's credibility is extremely poor. PRE was able to bump up so fast on that list with very very few people actually visiting it from PRE. That says something. And puts its credibility into question. It was a nice idea at first. But as I have been looking into it the past few weeks I also believe it's possible spiders from google and elsewhere that may be following the link, are also falsely adding to it. Research I have done looking into Aardvark Topsites also shows that it is NOT cheat proof. So, from this point forward I will be using Google Analytics for proper comparison.

So much for stuffing the ballot boxes in our favor, I suppose lol. Though I agree, I'd rather it be an honest score

Well, it was good for promotion purposes, and we got to #8, so perhaps PRE will go on longer than epected.

I don't know if it's the site and how they have the settings for it, or the software they are using. But I found cheating on it to be way too easy and thus it's credibility...well not credible nor reliable. I have been watching it and PRE's stats since PRE was added to it. And I found I was easily able to vote multiple times a day using the same browser and doing nothing different than I normally do. No proxy sites. No fancy tricks. I wouldn't take anything that site says or shows as serious or reliable at this point. None of the sites on it, including PRE, are showing reliable or truthful stats. Proof of that? One of the deadest PR sites is in the top ten. Figure the logic on that one. PRE did well. But then again any site can if a few people keep voting for it over and over in the same day. And yes, it bumps the stats when you do.
