I am not gonna allow this to become a religious themed thread. But religious or not, it does not justify their behavior. Show me which bible is the only true bible. Show me which religion is the only true one. Fact is, all current religions today branched off of other religions in the past. Many we may not even know of anymore since they are gone. It comes down to ideals and beliefs. But some take it as their ideals and beliefs are the only true ones. That is where free will takes it's nasty turn.
What could have been the 1 true bible and religion over the years has turned into thousands of religions with ideals and beliefs. The problem is, that would likely mean most people are not following the religion, bible, and it's ideals and beliefs originally put here. For all we know all of the worlds current religions could be just slanted versions of the same thing. Anyone that says they know what the real religion, the real bible, the real beliefs and ideals are....are full of BS.
All we have to go by is what we were told by our parents. And our parents were told by their parents. And so on. None of us know in all reality what the real bible is. Or who really wrote it. Or where it really came from. And as most of you know, written or not, things over time have a tendancy to change from what the original source had written or said. Partially because of how it was interpreted and partially because people like to add their own ideals and beliefs and pawn it off as what was actually there. When it is in fact not.
I'm not anti-religion. But I do not believe most of what we have been told is true. All that we are reading or learning is an interpretation. But is not necessarily fact. The bible we know today has changed many times over the centuries. It has had content added and taken away from it as people 'interpreted' what was said. Thus the bible most hold today is a shadow of its former self. I have picked up 2 bibles...both from different publishers BUT for the same religion and had gotten 2 different interpretations from them. IMO, that's dangerous.
If a god laid down his religion and bible and people swerved away from that, then in my opinion they are disobeying that god and the original ideals and beliefs are being lost. One religion may belief in Jesus and Mary...but the next one only in Jesus. Yet the original belief may have included Jesus, Mary, AND Joseph for all we know. Some people say religions believe in the same god. But that's been proven to be untrue.
In my opinion most religions (not all, but most) are just as dangerous as any cult or government out there.
I would rather have no affiliation with any church....than allow myself to be corrupted by people that do not wish me to think freely, but instead to suppress me into their own mold of ideals and beliefs. A lot of people are afraid of what they do not know. And many religions exploit that. They exploit them because regardless of what they may think or say, they are mentally and/or emotionally weak. They have for many many many centuries.
The Westboro Protestors are prime examples of that. Their ideals and religions are right. Everyone elses are wrong. I've seen this with numerous religions. It's dangerous and will likely lead to a dangerous confrontation in the end.
I have seen too many negative things come from religion to even care about it anymore. People can believe in what they want. As long as they don't try pushing it on others. And Westboro is using 1 type of bible to interpret their beliefs. All others are wrong to them.
I was glad to see this video I posted. People realized, it's not about the religion...but about us as people and how we treat each other. In the end, isn't that what god wants?! |
