Well with me.. It was the fact that we didnt have our traditional 5 colors. I mean, don't get me wrong, I can accept change, but that was like... Damn... Keep in mind this is before I knew about Super Sentai. I'm fine with it now at this point of time, but if you were ever to put me back in time, finish the Wild Force finale, then make me watch Ninja Storm, I bet you I'd still give you the same reaction.
And they way it was presented... Felt way too retro to me. Almost MMPRish. I love MMPR to death, but they stuff they did (jokes, language, episode themes, themes in general, actions, etc.), it's not exactly gonna fit in our modern world. I don't really know how to explain it...
Lothor is a perfect example of this. Sure, he's one hell of a total badass in combat like in the finale, but he was wayyy to much of a Lord Zedd throw back, like one of those really dumb and obnoxious villains that looks so evil, and yet he makes all those corny jokes and such.
I mean in one episode (can't remember which one), Tori get a offer for modeling I think? And I forget who, but someone finds the remote control thing and found on the back of it, "If found, please return to: Lothor."... Wtf... Do I need to say more?
The Rangers themselves (Shane, Tori, Dustin, Blake, Hunter, Cam), weapons, the tech, the Zords, the Power Spheres, the Ninja theme, etc, etc, was absolutely awesome. Loved all that... In my eyes they could have made PRNS so great, but it was brought down by all that other stuff. I still enjoy the season nonetheless. =)
And don't even get me started on the freakin guinea pig.. Why didn't Lothor just kill him?... omg... lol
