He's unanimously loved over Alpha 6, who not only is my favorite of the two but was probably one of the more interesting robot characters in the series (since Alpha 7 was boring).
There wasn't much to Alpha 5's personality, really. I just found 6 more interesting, and thus I think 5's just a bit overrated. Not that he's a bad character.
