My friend is a fire chief. I've seen him in action. Then again the whole situation felt more like I was watching a comedy than anything else. LOL
Seriously. He was out of town at the time and I was a few buildings away from a garage that was on fire. The fire house was 2 buildings over. LOL They had to get the fire dept. from the next town over. In fact, they got there first before the local fire dept did. OMG I gave him a hard time for that one. They were about 45 minutes away at a training exercise when it happened. Classic stuff really. I've seen firefighters point the hose and do very little. Then brag about their harrowing excapades later that night at the bar. lol. No matter how pathetic the story is or unrealistic, or even untrue....it works most everytime.
"OMG...were you scared?!"
>> "Yeah. I was. But in a situation like that you don't think. You act. I was just doing my job is all." (acting all humble.)
"Poor thing. Here, let me buy you a round."
>>"It's not needed. But thanks."
.....Later that night theres a fire he's putting out alright. lol. |
